If you heat your home with electricity, you already know it isn't cheap.
Storage heaters pump out their warmth in the morning and have little left by the evening, just when you want it. Electric radiators and panel heaters are simple, but you can almost watch the meter spin while they run.
Electricity is the most expensive way there is to heat a home, unit for unit. Every cold snap, the bill climbs, and there's not much you can do about it.
Meanwhile there's a way to get the same warmth for a fraction of the running cost, and the government will put £7,500 towards fitting it.
This is where Renewable Robin comes in
Far more warmth from every unit you pay for.
An air source heat pump takes heat from the air outside, even on a cold day, and uses it to heat your home and your hot water. For every unit of electricity it uses, it delivers around three to four units of heat. Direct electric heating gives you one. That is the difference in your running costs.
The government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme puts £7,500 towards the cost of fitting one. That grant goes directly to your installer, so it simply comes off your quote. No paperwork. No claiming anything back.
A proper installation starts with a survey, then a quote, then a booking. That process takes time, so the sooner you start, the sooner you're off expensive electric heating.
That's all we're asking you to do today. Check if you qualify, and if it makes sense we'll arrange for one of our trusted local installers to survey your property.
“Will it really be cheaper to run than my heaters?”
Fair question. And you deserve a straight answer.
Direct electric heating turns one unit of electricity into one unit of heat. A heat pump turns it into roughly three to four. So even though it runs on electricity too, it uses far less of it to keep you just as warm.
Modern heat pumps are designed to work in older properties. They run at a lower flow temperature, so they work best running gently for longer rather than blasting heat in short bursts. For most homes that means upgrading a few radiators, which your installer will assess during the survey.
In a Nesta survey of more than 2,500 heat pump owners, over 80% of those who switched from electric, oil or LPG heating were as satisfied or more satisfied than before.
It's not magic. A proper survey matters. That's exactly what our local installers do before any work begins, and if a heat pump isn't right for your home, they'll tell you that too.
We know what you're thinking.
You've probably seen the ads before. You click on one and within the hour your phone won't stop ringing. Four different companies. All of them telling you you're the perfect candidate.
It feels like the double glazing days all over again.
That's not how we work. You check whether you're eligible before we ask for anything. No phone number. No email. No obligation.
And when you do decide to get in touch, you won't reach a call centre or a script read off a screen. You'll speak to Stephen. A real person, local to you, who will tell you honestly whether this makes sense for your home.
If it does, we'll arrange a visit from one of our local installer partners. The £7,500 grant needs an MCS-certified installer, so ask to see their MCS number before you sign.
And because the grant goes directly to your installer rather than to you, there's no paperwork to navigate and no claim to submit. It just comes off your quote.
Worth starting sooner rather than later.
The £7,500 grant runs on a limited pot of government funding, and local installer slots fill up, especially heading into winter when everyone wants their heating sorted.
A proper heat pump installation starts with a survey, then a quote, then a booking, and that all takes time. The homeowners who get fitted first are the ones who start the conversation now.
We're not saying that to pressure you. We're saying it because every winter on electric heating is an expensive one, and the sooner you start, the sooner that stops.
Stop paying the most to stay warm.
Find out in less than 60 seconds whether you qualify for the £7,500 grant and what a heat pump could mean for your heating bills.
No phone number needed to check. No obligation. No salesperson waiting on the other end.
